here's a short story

At seven o clock in the morning Billy woke up, at felt as he always did when he woke up. He looked at the digital read out on his cable box. 7:00. He sat up and stretched his arms. 'Strange I'm totally awake.' Billy thought. He had gone to bed at the usual three A.M. time-slot, after watching a new release Blu-ray. 'Why am I up?' But he was up so he went to Starbucks and bought a sugar saturated iced Americano, with added vanilla flavor.
When he left Starbucks he noticed how many people were up. Seems like the entire city of Danville is out here. He saw his friend Sean there. “Hey bro.”
“Oh whad up Billdog?”
“Fucking nothing, hey what time did you wake up today?”
“I just got up, like seven.” Billy got in his Audi and drove to his girlfriend's house.
By eleven A.M. the major of Danville was writing an email on her Macbook Air, about the budget surplus. As she shoved the rest of an Italian turkey sandwich down her round face, she noticed the sun outside. It was setting. She looked at the analog brushed steel clock on her desk, then at her Rolex wrist watch. It was 11 A.M.. What does this mean?
Billy had just had sex with his girlfriend and then eaten an expensive fruit salad from Whole Foods when he went outside. The sun was setting. The sky was pink and orange as it always was at sunset, a few clouds scraped along giving a rich tapestry of blues and greens to the already spectacular display. “What the fuck?” Billy took out his new cell phone and told it to call Courtney.
By noon it was almost dark, a deep midnight blue threw cover over Danville. The T.V. News was everywhere yelling and saying how this must be some kind of illusion, or it was a time-slip, or scientists are working on it.
Some people just stayed inside and ate, or watched recent Blu-ray releases on HD t.v.s, some people prayed to some imaginary thing, and a few people cried. By sundown, everyone was emotionally exhausted and decided they couldn't worry about it anymore so, they went shopping or, tried to go to bed, or had sex with their partners. But everyone felt uneasy about it.
